The Santa Maria Novella District is a district of Florence. It is located at the west of Florence and is named after the Santa Maria Novella church. It has numerous landmarks, such as the Mercato Vecchio, the Basilica di San Lorenzo and the Santa Maria Novella church.
The San Giovanni District is a district of Florence. It is the central district of Florence and is also the smallest. The San Giovanni District also has many landmarks, such as the Santa Maria del Fiore, the Palazzo Auditore and the Palazzo della Signoria to name a few. It is also the oldest part of Florence and is named in honour of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of Florence.
The San Marco District is a district of Florence. It is located at the east side of the city and it also includes some of the north areas of Florence. Notable landmarks in this district are the Basilica di Santa Croce, the Palazzo Medici and the Ospedale degli Innocenti. During the 15th century most of the construction in Florence was in this area.
